Frequently Asked Question’s

How Can We Help?

Volunteering is one of the most effective ways to give back to your community and make a real difference. It is also a great way to meet new people, make new friends and gain valuable skills.
As a volunteer leader you can help servya attract and keep the best volunteers by creating an engaging environment that encourages people to give their time and talent.

Change act good for those in need to: Help those who are in need by doing good. During these hard times we want to be kind and do something nice for those around us but what about those who are in need this is the time when many people are struggling financially there are families who don’t have enough to eat people who can’t afford the cost of gasoline and seniors who may not have enough money to live comfortably. There are a number of ways to help those in need. You can give money, volunteer time or donate items like food, clothes and
toys. Whatever you do to make sure that your actions are good for those in need and not just for yourself. It is the right thing to do.

Volunteering with us is a great way to get back and make a difference in your community, but before you apply it is important to understand a few things. First, we do background checks on all of our volunteers this includes criminal record checks, mental health screening and references. These checks help us to make sure that our volunteers are a good fit for our program. Second, we have a limited number of volunteer spots available. Unfortunately we can’t accommodate everyone who wants to volunteer with us but that does not mean you shouldn’t try if you’re interested in volunteering with us please email empoweringminds@servya.org or go
on our volunteer page and we’ll be happy to send you an application form thank you for considering us as your volunteer option in your community.

What is coronavirus?

respiratory syndrome).
How does coronavirus cause illness?
When you inhale or ingest a coronavirus particle the coronavirus can enter your airways through your nose.
Do you guys recommend masks?
As an organization, a mask is recommended, but not required, and we discuss the importance of washing our hands.
Why don’t you wear masks?
There is no evidence that wearing a mask will protect you from coronavirus. In fact it could make things worse by blocking your breathing. We always recommend social distancing to prevent the spread of covid 19
